Lead2Feed
Lead2Feed is a team-based, service-learning program that is designed to establish teamwork to develop leadership skills while learning how to solve hunger issues. Students complete ten lessons on service learning and then come up with a project to help solve the issue such as a food drive or helping out at a food pantry. The program is meant to strengthen students leadership skills, critical thinking, creativity, problem- solving, and reflection skills. Lead2Feed is adapted from Yum! Brands CEO David Novak's book Taking People with You. Although the program is part of a competition, the main idea is to promote awareness of hunger issues and build stronger leaders. Starting in 2014, FBLA now includes Lead2Feed in its list of community service projects that are available for local chapters to take part in.
