About UsFBLA is a student based organization that teaches high
school students about the business world through service, progress, and
education. The non-profit organization offers students interested in business
the opportunity to explore what opportunities there are in the business world
through meetings, trips, scholarships, and projects. FBLA offers students the
ability to prepare for “real-world” business experiences through conference
workshops aimed at building leadership and business knowledge, and competitive
events designed to polish key needs in the business world such as public
speaking or design. In our local chapter, we compete yearly at Longwood
University, have monthly meetings, have at least three holiday parties a year, participate
in many service projects throughout the year, and get a copy of the national
magazine Tomorrow’s Business Leaders.

Our History |
Future Business Leaders of America, or FBLA, is the oldest student
led business organization in the world with approximately half a million middle
school, high school, and college student members. FBLA was started in the year
1937 by Dr. Hamden L. Forkner with the proposal to help high school and college
age students thinking about entering the business world. From the early days of
Dr. Forkner’s vision, FBLA has grown into four different levels consisting of a
middle, high, college, and professional spanning over nine different countries.
